SSEHVはSathya Sai Education in Human Valuesの略です。あらゆる人類に共通する普遍的な価値は「真実・正しい行い・平安・愛・非暴力」の五つに大別することができます。この五つの人間的価値は、すべての人の中に生まれつき備わっています。環境を整え、価値に気付く機会を与え、教師が自ら手本を示すことによって、それぞれが生まれもつ人間的価値を引き出すのが、SSEHVプログラムです。

SSEHVでは、既存のカリキュラムを変える必要はありません。エデュケアという教育理念にもとづいた価値をテーマとした総合授業をプラスすることによって、肉体・知性・情緒・精神性・道徳性という人格の五つの側面をバランスよく発達させ、子どもたちの中にある五つの価値が引き出されるよう導きます。

近年、こころの教育の必要性が叫ばれていますが、具体的にどうしたら良いのか分からないご両親や先生方も多いのではないでしょうか。SSEHVはこれらの問題に答えを与えるべく、具体的な方法論を提供します。

SSEHVの指導法

　SSEHVの指導法には次の３つがあります

1. 学校の道徳の時間の中にSSEHVクラスを取り入れる方法（直接教授法）

2. 授業科目（数学・科学・地理・歴史・語学など）の中に、価値を組み込んでいく方法

3. 課外活動（スポーツ・登山・演劇・討論・遠足・奉仕など）の中に、価値を組み込んでいく方法

SSEHVクラスは、積極的思考、黙想、物語、グループ活動、グループ歌唱の五つの教授法を使い、楽しい雰囲気の中で行われます。

SSEHV教師養成セミナーを開催し、教案やハンドブックを出版しています

SSEHVで使われる手法は、どれも初等、中等教育で馴染みのあるものばかりですから、理論と指導法を理解すればすぐに教室で使うことができます。SSEHV教師養成セミナーが世界中で開催されており、2016年現在延べ十万人以上の教師たちが参加してきました。セミナー修了者には修了証書が授与されます。日本では約700名に修了証書が授与されています。（日本における開催予定については、ISSE事務局にお問い合わせください。）

 

セミナーの参加費は無料で、準備・運営はボランティアの教師たちによって行われます。これは教育は非営利であるべきという、協会の理念に基づくものです。（食事代、資料代など若干の実費をいただくこともあります。）

About SSEHV (Sathya Sai Education in Human Values)

SSEHV is the abbreviation of Sathya Sai Education in Human Values. SSEHV comes down to the five values that are universal to humans, Truth, Love, Right Conduct, Peace, and Non-Violence. It can be said that these five values are innate, intrinsic, universal qualities of human beings. SSEHV promotes moral education based on such values. SSEHV, without having to alter the pre-existing curriculum, is an educational program which is led in such a way that the five values are natural assimilated and put into practice. 

Effect of SSEHV

• The student’s moral character is fostered

• The values of Truth, Love, Right Conduct, Peace, and Non-Violence naturally permeate the student’s mind, and promote a lasting internal change

• A calmness becomes visible in the student, and qualities of cooperativeness and consideration are furthered

• As the student’s emotions begin to stabilize, the ability to concentrate increases, and educational effects improve

• An atmosphere is generated where the student has the attitude to live positively and cheerfully

• SSEHV is helpful in guidance for students who have a tendency toward truancy, or have trouble adjusting to school life

• The objectives and methods are clear, so the teacher can teach with confidence

• The student’s inherent nobility, purity, and kindness will manifest

 

Recently in Japan, the necessity of  “Education for the Heart” has been highly advocated but, concretely, parents and educators may well have been at a loss for what to do. SSEHV provides a concrete methodology in answer to such problems of ambivalence.

 

The SSEHV Teaching Methods

We have three teaching methods for SSEHV class.

1. The Indirect Method: Weave moral values into the pre-existing curricular subjects (Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Language)

2. The Co-Curricular Method: Weave moral values into extracurricular activities (sports, mountain climbing, theater, debate, field trips, service projects, etc.)

3. The Direct Method: In stead of the Curricular Subject Morals, incorporate the SSEHV Class itself into the classroom

 

The SSEHV Class uses the five teaching techniques of positive thinking, silent sitting, storytelling, group singing, and group activity.

 

Conducting of Teacher Training and Publication of SSEHV Materials

The Teaching Techniques of SSEHV are all techniques that will be familiar to teachers of primary and middle school education, so it is easy for educators to use them in their classrooms as soon as they understand the theory and the methods. The Institute of Sathya Sai Education Japan conducts teacher training seminars. If you attend a seminar, you will be able to understand. Teacher training seminars are being held throughout the world, and as of 2003, at present, over 100,000 teachers had participated.

Seminar participation is free of charge, and is prepared for and conducted by volunteer teachers. This is in line with the Institute’s philosophy that education should be a non-profit endeavor.
